This summer has been so busy for me with exhibitions, curating, residences and workshops as well as developing new work.
My exhibition showing the experimental work I created on my Arts Council of Wales funded Research and Development phase of my ‘Garden of the Mind’ project is due to finish on Sunday 18th August at Craft in the Bay-Cardiff. It has been a transformational project for me- the chance to experiment and not worry about the commercial aspect of developing work. The next phase of this project- the ‘Production’ phase will start with a residency at Ruthin Craft Centre in Sept/Oct and will culminate in an exhibition there in Sept 2020.
I have had the honour and pleasure of curating an exhibition for Helfa Gelf/Art Trail Denbighshire artists and makers which will be shown at Ruthin Craft Centre in Sept.
The open evening is on the 13th Sept at 6pm- all welcome- we would love to see you there.
My home studio will be open as usual for Helfa Gelf/Art Trail on the weekends of 14th/15th and the 21st/22nd September from 11-4. I will be baking cakes and providing drinks as well as having lots of new work and sale items to purchase. See below for the link to the Helfa Gelf website which features many brilliant and interesting artists and makers to visit across North Wales.
I have recently started a 4 month residency for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This will see me working with patients from Mold Community Hospital and Glan Clwyd Renal and Stroke rehab wards.
Also for BCUHB I recently worked on their stand at the National Eisteddfod engaging the public in creating an installation for Llanrwst Medical centre based on the healing power of mandalas.
